Wild Men and Beetles Named Ringo

'There are hundreds of species of birds in this park and a wild man. If you see the wild man, run!' Possibly some very good advice from the 14 year old boy I had a wheelbarrow race with through the woods today! Didn't see one tho.....am very disappointed :(

I was told that we'd being mulching trails and weeding today.....*shakes head*.....turns out Jamie (the girl who ran the project) was wrong on that one! Didnt get to burn stuff BUT they did give me a saw!!! How cool is that?! Is possibly even better than burning stuff! Actually, I take that back, nothing is better than burning stuff! (Am sorry Fire God! Will sacrifice 2 extra squirrels on Tuesday! + possibly a gopher when i get back to Bangor...mwah ha ha ha......'oh, Spencer.....')

La, la,la....anyway, where was I? Saws! Basically had to saw up a tree into little tiny pieces and put them on a big wood pile which we didnt get to burn :( Then we went over to the other side of the pork (oink! lol i mean park!) to cut down some wire fences. Involved wading through 3 foot high grass, getting smacked in the head by the same branch (FIVE TIMES!!) and running up and down the path with wheelbarrows! Was ACE! hehe!

So after 3 hours i was pretty knackered and ready to go home but Dad had other ideas! *rolls eyes* So we actually ended up walking around the shopping mall for a couple of hours looking for a new suitcase for Dad. It wouldnt have been all that bad except for the fact that it was the really posh shopping mall and I was in scruffy clothes, shoes with holes in and had mud all over me. The words 'hedge' and 'backwards' spring to mind. As Mum would say i looked like nobody loved me!

In the car on the way back from the mall i had a lovely suprise! 3 hours after I'd left the nature centre i found a big blue beetle sitting on my shoulder! Unfortunately for poor little Ringo (that was his name, he whispered it in my ear) his life was very cruelly cut short when Dad squished him in a tissue!
