Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy............

Just got back from Seattle a few hours ago and am completely knackered!!! The fishing trip was really cool though! Got some good pictures and more importantly some yummy fish! Well.....am assuming it's yummy as we havn't actually eaten any yet!

We were on the boat by about 5.30am (explaining the knackered-ness!) so we got to watch the sunrise from the boat which was very pretty :D Then Matt (the guy that took us out) set up all the gear for us (was a lazy mans fishing trip) and we set off across Puget Sound in search of salmon!

After about half an hour or so I caught my first fish!

His name is Geoffrey :)

After I caught my second fish I found out just how not fun sticking your finger in a live salmon is! They made me hold it up for a picture. Kirk (the other guy....think that was his name) was swinging his round by the gills like all 'lalala......this is easy' but his had been dead for half an hour! Mine was still wiggling!

Say hello to Mr. Smooshyhead! I really don't look happy! hehe!

Two superstitions I'd never heard of:
1. Bananas are bad luck
2. Yellow attracts sharks (they call it yum yum yellow - people not sharks coz they cant talk......or can they?)

Obviously John and I weren't aware of the first one as between us we'd brought six on the boat with us! oops! It seems the angry banana god spared us anyway seeing as we caught our limit and the boat didn't sink.

As for the yum yum yellow theory apparantly sharks can smell the colour yellow coz even though those bananas were out of sight in our cooler bags Kirk still caught a dogfish!

Will write more bout the rest of the trip later....is stupid o'clock in the morning and i need sleep!

Damn you're lucky, that looks like such a nice area!

So you didn;t see any salmon sharks then? ...

They look like giant nurse sharks I think . .Can't remember .. only ever seen one programme about them .. Ok that sounds incredibly geeky .. but what the hell!
